This fall, Rachel Eisendrath with join the full-time faculty in Barnard's English Department. Specializing in sixteenth-century English poetry, she comes to Barnard from University of Chicago where she will receive her Ph.D. in English literature in June. In addition to her B.A. from Harvard, and M.A. degrees from St. John’s College and the University of Chicago, Eisendrath has studied painting and sculpture at the New York Studio School. Her courses explore the history of poetic forms, the intersection of literary and visual arts, and the relationship of poetics with intellectual and cultural history. She will be teaching the fourth section of ENGL BC 3159: The English Colloquium: Order and Disorder this coming semester.
