"Few better expose the long, dark reach of dictatorship than Matar," is David Lepeska's description of Hisham Matar, Libyan novelist and member of Barnard's English Department faculty, in his recent articlein The National.  Matar spoke at an event in Chicago, prompting Lepeska to survey the professors thoughts on current events and his related novels.
