2022 Winners of Barnard English Department Student Prizes
Overview
Each year, the English Department awards named prizes to a few English majors in recognition of their scholarship and accomplishments. The prizes requiring writing submissions are open to those not majoring in English as well.
2022 College-wide Awards
THE ALPHA ZETA CLUB GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
For promise of distinction in the pursuit of higher degrees. Particularly for students entering the professions.
Winner: Meredith Phipps
GEORGE WELWOOD MURRAY GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP
For promise of distinction in graduate study in the humanities and/or the social sciences.
Winner: Audrey Pettit
THE ETHEL STONE LEFRAK PRIZE
Awarded to a student for excellence in a field of the arts, including, but not limited to, art history, music theory, architecture, and the performing arts.
Winner: Sophie Poole
ANNETTE KAR BAXTER MEMORIAL PRIZE
Awarded to a member of the Junior Class in any field who has distinguished herself (on a paper or project) in the study of some aspect of women's experience.
