Elizabeth Weybright holds a Ph.D. in English literature from The Graduate Center, CUNY and a B.A. in literature and music performance from SUNY Geneseo. Before coming to Barnard, she taught courses in literature, writing, and the humanities at the City College of New York. During her time at CUNY, she also worked with students and faculty as a Writing Across the Curriculum Fellow at John Jay College and a Teaching and Learning Collaboratory Fellow at Macaulay Honors College. Elizabeth's research focuses on British literature of the late-eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Her current project positions women writers of the period as key interlocutors in discourses surrounding acoustic science and musical aesthetics. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in The European Romantic ReviewRomantic Circles PraxisThe Rambling, and a volume on Nineteenth-Century Literature in Transition: The 1800's, forthcoming from Cambridge University Press.
