Mary Beth Keane (BC '99) received an M.F.A. from the University of Virginia, where she was a Henry Hoyns Fellow in Fiction. Her debut novel, The Walking People, received Honorable Mention at the 2010 PEN/Hemingway Awards, and in 2011 she was selected as one of the National Book Foundation’s “5 under 35.” Her second novel, Fever, was named one of the best books of 2013 by The San Francisco ChronicleNPR Books, and Library Journal, and was longlisted for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary AwardShe was a 2015 Guggenheim Fellow in Fiction.
